Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for many icons I have ordered from monasteries and companies located here in the US. The piece of wood they used had a wood knot right on Jesus’s cheek. Very distracting from the piece. They didn’t even try to blend it in. Luckly I was able to do so and it turned out okay.

Beautiful piece with exquisite detail

This piece is formed from a very solid hardwood. The engraved details are incredibly clean and intricate, and the gold highlights are outstanding. I opted to purchase a 9” teak plate stand from another vendor which I use to display the large piece on tabletop rather than hanging it on a wall, and it preeents perfectly. Highly recommend this piece.
